This page concerns direct deposit for international staff. If you're on a U.S program Team, see Direct Deposit.
When you launch overseas, we will no longer withhold state taxes from your paycheck. There are a few states that may still require you to report income and pay taxes. Please consult with a local tax professional.
We have a variety of ways that International workers receive their paycheck, depending on security, banking, and visa needs.
Direct Deposit
Most often, Reliant will deposit your pay into a bank account located in the United States. You submitted banking information when you were first onboarded. If you have changed your bank account since then, you can update that information here - Direct Deposit. If you are serving in a sensitive location, funds will be deposited under the name of Reliant's Legal Entity.
To access funds from your US bank overseas, you can either wire it to a foreign bank account or withdraw cash from ATMs. ATM fees are reimbursable for international workers.
Reliant does not have the ability to direct deposit into an International bank account. However, you can request a monthly wire.
Monthly Wire
You can request a monthly wire of up to 100% of your paycheck to your International bank account. There is an $10.00 service fee that is be charged to the account for which you are responsible for each wire.
Reliant requires you to keep a stateside bank account open even if you choose the monthly wire option to your International bank account. All reimbursements will be deposited to your stateside bank.
Please see the Payroll Wire to Foreign Bank Accounts - Addendum to Direct Deposit Agreement section of this manual for more details.
NOTE: Some countries are on a no-banking list and will not be able to receive a wire.
Foreign Entity
Sometimes, international workers need to be employed by an in-country organization to meet their visa requirements. In this case, Reliant is able to send your salary to a foreign non-profit in the form of a grant. In this scenario, you will be considered a part-time employee of Reliant and required to have a small salary deposited in a US bank account as well, allowing for 403b9 contributions and reimbursements. Please reach out to international@reliant.org if you are interested in this option and we will work through the details with you.
Salary Advance
Sometimes International workers need to put up a large amount of money at once. For instance, a landlord may require several months to a year of rent up front. You are able to request a payroll advance for these situations. See Payroll Advances for more information and for the google doc form. If you are having issues with the google doc, you can email payroll@reliant.org.

Barb Seckler and Kelly Bapka, would you two please take a look at this information and edit anything that may need to be changed? I saw this information in an email from Kelly to one of our international staff this week, and so wanted to add in what I knew from the email. I'm sure you both may have more specifics that would be helpful! Thanks

Unknown User (ed.courtney@reliant.org) - the direct deposit and salary advance form links here need to be updated to All Forms links - but since they're not excel, pdf, or word docs, I wasn't sure how to add them (I didn't see them appear on the list when I tried updating the links).
Also, Barb Seckler just wanted to make sure you saw this page - I'm going to be sending this link to any international missionary that is getting ready to be released to move overseas, so I want to make sure it is accurate

Unknown User (kate.pendola@reliant.org), Barb Seckler asked us to add these forms (direct deposit and salary advance forms) to this page only. We really only want people to use the google doc, but user-1a794 has mentioned to Barb that some international people have trouble with google docs. So, to help with that we added these forms to this page only. we do not want it to be on all forms because we want everyone else to use google docs and we would prefer that international use google docs too. The PDF is only for the case of they can not use the google doc. I will add the links to the google docs to this page as well so those are both on there, but just wanted you to know what's up and why they aren't on all forms. thanks!

Unknown User (kate.pendola@reliant.org) - yes I am aware of this page and just reviewed it for content making a few changes. I asked Sarah Swann to verify the links. I made sure the references to finance go to the reliant.org email.
