Continue to Setup your Health Savings Account:

Log in to your Highmark account

Make sure you are logged in, and on the "Home" tab.

Locate the "Save Your Healthcare" section.

There should be a box that says "Open your HSA."

Select "Open your account."

Open your HSA

Follow the on-screen prompts to open the HSA account.

It may take a few days for your account to be active. Be sure to check back later to ensure your account is open.

Select "Health Savings Account"

Once your HSA account is opened, go to the Benefits tab.

Under Insurance Benefits, select "Health Savings Account."

Select "View My Account Detals"

You should see a page that states when your policy is active and how much is in your HSA.

Click "View my account details" to get to the next page.

Check Notifications and Alerts

Notifications

On the top right corner, you should see your name and a Notifications tab.

Clear any red notifications that may be there.

If you have notifications that have a lightbulb icon that you can't open or get rid of, then you can click the 3 vertical dots on the right side and select "Mark as Read" or "Dismiss."

Alerts

If your account requires additional steps to open, then look for Alerts (under Your Account), and submit additional documentation as needed.

If you have no additional alerts, then proceed to the next step to verify your account is ready to receive funds.

Screenshot and Send Email

Screenshot the entire accounts page with no notifications or alerts.

Send the screenshot to benefits@reliant.org so the Benefits Department can verify your account is open and ready to receive contributions.

Example screenshot:

Notice how there are no active alerts or notifications. Once Benefits receives this, you will begin receiving contributions!

  1. Kaitlin Hughes The page looks great and is easy to follow.  Great job!  Do you know if the missionaries still need to wait the 3 to 5 days after they register to be able to log in and activate the account to have access to the claims/spending tab?  The steps make it sound like that is no longer required.  If so, that is great, I just want to make sure.  If you are not sure just let me know and I will confirm with Adrienne from Highmark.

    1. Tonya Bartels Thank you! The new User Brochure does not mention that, but I wonder if we say that still to be err on the side of caution? What do you think?

      1. Kaitlin Hughes I have emailed Adrienne to confirm, lets wait to change it until we hear back from her.

So here is the dealio.  Once a missionary has registered on the portal they will have access to the claims & spending tab right away and it should show the zero balance.  They no longer have to wait the 3 to 5 days to activate their account.  But once they have initiated their account it does still take the 3 to 5 days to go through the OFAC security checks.  If they don't pass we will not be able to deposit contributions into their account and they will be sent an email and a letter in the mail explaining why they did not pass and instructions of what to do.  My suggestion would be to still use the screenshot as our confirmation that they have initiated their account but put a warning box on the Solomon page regarding that step, that they will be going through the security check, literally state that if your address on your driver's licenses does not match the address with GuideStone they will fail the security check.  Explain that if they are in that circumstance to look for and email and letter through the mail that will give instructions that must be followed to be able to receive contributions into their HSA and to use their Debit Card for qualified expenses. Thoughts?

        1. Tonya Bartels that is great! I think we should because we get a lot of questions  & situations regarding that matter and it'll be nice to refer back to the Solomon page for reference.

  2. Tonya Bartels just added a "warning box" with this information, thoughts?

    1. Kaitlin Hughes I changed some of the wording just to make it sound more "positive" lets have Barb Seckler look at it and give the thumbs up, and I think this is good to go.

      1. perfect, thank you Tonya!
