When making a change to your 403(b)(9) contribution amount, please also submit an updated support goal in Toolbox. However, changing your support goal does not change the amount deducted from your payroll, you have to make the change on the Principal site to affect payroll. If you have not registered with Principal, you must register first then follow the steps below to make a change. All changes must be submitted on the Principal site by the 19th of the month to be effective on the following month's paycheck.

403(b)(9) Contribution Changes
- Login to the Principal website.
- On the welcome page, click on tab "Contributions" from main selection bar at the top.
- Beneath "Contributions" select "Manage Contributions."
- You will reach a page titled Manage Your Contributions. Select the blue box "Change Your Contribution Rate."
- On the Contribution Amount page you'll have the option to type in a new dollar amount to be contributed from your paychecks to the 403(b)(9) Plan. To change the dollar amount of your Regular 403(b)(9) Contribution (Salary Deferral Contribution) fill in the dollar amount in the box "Your contribution is ________." If you prefer Roth Elective Deferral Contributions fill in the dollar amount in the box "Roth Elective Deferral ________."
- Finally, select the "Continue" button to advance to the next screen.
- You will be routed to a confirmation page. Review the change to make sure it is correct. Check the box confirming the information and click the "Submit" button to finalize the change.
