What is Teladoc?

Teladoc is a cost-savings telemedicine service. Teladoc is a 24/7 live, either online video chat or phone, service offering non-emergency consultations with U.S. board-certified doctors. The convenience of Teladoc is that you never have to leave your home to see a doctor. You can even use your cell phone wherever and whenever to connect with a live video chat using the Teladoc mobile app. This is great when you are traveling and away from a primary care physician.

  • $57 General Medical
  • $94 Mental Health – Licensed Therapist
  • $210 Mental Health – Psychiatrist, PMHNP – Initial Visit
  • $110 Mental Health – Psychiatrist, PMHNP – Ongoing Visits
  • $75 Dermatology
  • Please note that these are preliminary consultation costs and could change.

  • The mobile app is the most convenient way to access Teladoc
    • Schedule a doctor's visit, manage your medical history, or even send a prescription to the nearest pharmacy – all from the palm of your hand.

Here's what some of our Reliant office staff had to say after using the Teladoc service:

"Teladoc was indeed easy and very helpful.  

How easy is it? I started by taking about 5 minutes to enroll. Then I completed my medical history, which took about 10 minutes. Then I entered my HSA debit card information to request the consultation and received a phone call from the doctor within 10 minutes. Once the consultation started she really listened, took action, and told me what to do next. It was about seven minutes total. It took a little longer for the prescription to get to my pharmacy, about 65 minutes. 

I love the Teladoc medical history section for two reasons:  A) It’s saved, and I don’t have to re-create it;  B) I have a bunch of allergies; often I forget some when I’m rushing to the doctor’s office. The history form had easy add buttons to help me cover every one of my allergies. The list of prescriptions used is very similar as well.  

Another helpful feature on the Guidestone page is a message center where the doctor summarizes the consultation. You can ask any outstanding questions and get help there.  

I’m very glad I used the service. The best part is that I was on the mend within a half day and I didn’t miss more work.
