Annual Reviews and New Salaries Supervisors & workers, we are so thankful to be partnered in ministry with you. We are excited for the Kingdom work you and your ministry are doing. Once appreciate the ministry of supervision you provide our missionaries! Once a year, Reliant Missionaries employees and Supervisors supervisors evaluate their jobs and review their performances. After evaluations are completed, the Reliant program team leads work together with Supervisors and/or the church or ministry's compensation teams to set updated salaries for the coming year. |

Upcoming dates to keep in mind
Due March 31April 4: Missionary Employee completes the Missionary Employee Input section of the Annual Review and shares it with their supervisorSupervisor.
- For the College Program Team only: Pastors, pastor spouses, and board members Pastors will share this with the supervisor and their church personnel committee and supervisor.
- Due April 30: Supervisors complete the Annual Review and share it with their program.
- May 1 - June 35: Compensation review conversations between Program between Program Team Leader and local and local compensation decision-makers.
- Reliant will send out a follow-up email to church leadership once all your evaluations are completed to schedule this time.
- June 17: Compensation notices go out to missionaries16: Employee compensation updated, and employee notified by email.
- July 16: Deadline Deadline for missionaries employees to accept new salaries for August paycheck.
What to do next?
- Both Missionaries and Supervisors can review this entire page so that they are ready to complete the Annual Review when it is sent to them.
- MissionariesField Staff, watch your Reliant email inbox for an email from learn@reliant.org with a link to the Annual Review that will come around Monday, March 7..
- When you have finished your portion, share the document with your supervisor or personnel committee
- Supervisors, the Missionary will notify employee will share the document with you when he or she completes the Missionary Employee Input portion of the Annual Review. Then you will complete the Supervisor Input section.

The new Annual Review can be tailored to the job role. Like the previous version, the Missionary will add five to seven of their most significant ministry duties to the Review. However, then they can now select five ministry skills from a list (or add skills not on the list) that are most necessary for their role and complete a self-assessment on those skills.
The rating scales have also been changed on the new Annual Review to more simplified language.

Missionary Staff Level Updates
The titles and descriptions for Missionary Staff Levels have been updated for 2022. The new levels align closely with the previous levels, but the descriptions focus more on the responsibilities and experience required for the role. The transition to the new staff levels will occur over the next several months.
Missionary Staff Level Transition
The staff level for U.S.-based, career missionaries will automatically convert from the current levels to the new level names:

Job Description Template
If you or the person you supervise does not have an updated Job Description that has been shared with Reliant, please go to Job Descriptions to create and submit a new one
The salary ranges will also transfer over. (E.g., Missionary Staff 2 range will be the same as the Level 2 range for 2022.)
Supervisors, as part of the Annual Review, you will be asked if you would like to update the Staff Level for the Missionary. Please make sure that you take some time to review the new Missionary Staff Levels and follow the instructions on the Annual Review for notifying Reliant that you'd like to make a change. Please reach out to your Program Team (What Program Team Am I On?) if you have any questions.
Job Description Template
In addition, Reliant will be transitioning to a new process to maintain Job Descriptions for all Missionaries and Associates. You can find more details about the transition here (Missionary Job Description Process). While it is not mandatory to update your Job Description during the Annual Review season, it may make sense to do it now as you will be asked to refer to your Job Description as part of the Missionary Employee Input stage of the Annual Review.
