Info

The government requires Reliant to verify that all new hires are eligible to work in the United States using a Form I-9 within 3 days after their start date.

...

Please select the statement below that most describes your situation for details on what options are available to have your eligibility verified.

Reliant has partnered with WorkBright which is a secured online platform that allows you to have your I-9 verified anywhere, anytime and on any device. This process will only take about 10 minutes to complete. You will receive an email to your Reliant account from WorkBright with instructions on how to complete your I-9 after you have been deputized at training. Below you will find how to best prepare for your I-9 verification and what the email will look like.

If you have any questions about this process please email payroll@reliant.org. You may also view this video on behalf of WorkBright with a visual of the process . Thank you!

Note

The I-9 should be completed together with you, your trusted individual and your unexpired acceptable I-9 documentation. You cannot be hired until your I-9 is completed. You will receive reminder emails from WorkBright until your I-9 is completed & signed.

We may be able to work with you and a trusted individual to fill out the Form I-9. The following three stipulations must be met in order for this option to be used.Have the physical originals of required I-9 documents with you

.

  • Have a member of your household or trusted individual willing to serve as a Reliant representative and complete the Form I-9 over DocuSign.
  • Be able to set up a video-conference within 3 days of your hire date with the two of you and a member of Reliant's Employment Services Department where we will ensure the form is filled out correctly and digitally confirm required documents.
  • If you are unable to meet any one of the above requirements, we can digitally verify your eligibility to work in the United States, which the DHS will allow to suffice until the National Emergency Declaration is lifted. You must also notify Reliant as soon as you know when your stay at home orders will be lifted, so that we can set up a time for your documents to be reverified in person by a Reliant employee or other designated representative.
  • If you are able to meet all the requirements for the first option, please set up a 20 minute video appointment with the Employment Services team using this link: https://calendly.com/reliantpayroll/i-9-verification. During the appointment, you will need your documents and your trusted individual together. This will greatly help us not have a sudden influx of needed reverifications.

For the second option, we will send you a separate DocuSign envelope with the I-9 and you will need to fill out the form and attach images of your verifying documents.

At this time, the DHS has only extended these allowances through mid-July. Reliant will continue to monitor the situation and will reach out closer to your hire date with instructions.

The policy amendments above are in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Department of Homeland Security's policy extensions seen on their website here: DHS announces flexibility in requirements related to Form I-9 compliance.

    UI Step

Have someone you trust that is at least 18 years old in person with you to verify your documents in Section 2, after you complete Section 1. They will need to be physically with you (ie. parent, spouse, best friend, coworker, etc..). This process will only take about 10 minutes!

    Note

Your I-9 is not complete until you documents have reviewed by someone & they have signed section 2. You will not be hired until this step is complete
