UTILIZE THE HHYCH SLIDE!!!
Read the left side verbatum. Reading this gives the donor the chance to zone out and THINK. Next, read the first paragraph on the right nice and S-L-O-W, then customize your "financial invitation" with something like:

  • “Would you pray? Would you ask the Lord if He would have you partner financially with this ministry for $150 a month, or some other amount?”

  • “Would you join my team at $150.00 a month, or some other amount?”

“I’m relying on God to provide ministry team partners who will make monthly investments in this ministry. Would you prayerfully go before the Lord and ask Him about supporting me in ministry at $200 a month, or some other amount? Would you pray about that? (pause. Count to five in your head to give them a chance to think and respond)
Ok, great! I’ll be praying for you in the meantime.
Let's plan to touch base again. Is tomorrow too soon?"

Using slide deck or paper:

If you have a paper or slide in front of them, you could say. "would you partner with me at one of these amounts?"
Alternate version: "Would you prayerfully consider joining my team at one of these amounts?”

Over the phone:

If it's on the phone, they cannot see the giving options, so you need to be prepared to give them an amount. We give ONE amount to lessen confusion and keep it simple: "Would you partner with me at $150 a month, or some other amount?“

Notice the "ask" is very direct. Let your slide do the "range ask." Avoid saying too many numbers by just focusing on one intentional gift amount.
