Arranging the Pages for a Hardcover Photo Book

If you intend to export your Google slide deck to create a hardcover photo album, we suggest making a new copy of your Google slide deck, as you will need to pay attention to the order of pages.

  • Each slide corresponds to a page in the book (see diagram below as there are also blank pages)
  • Slides work in pairs in your print copy to create facing pages in the book.
    • If you decide to add or delete one single slide beyond what is provided in the template, it will make all the subsequent pages in the book jump a page forward, making many of the matching page pairs out of sync.
    • Instead, replace a current slide with your new slide, or add your new slides in pairs.
    • NOTE: This does not matter for a digital presentation, and you may choose to do one version for print and then create a different version for digital where you can be a little more free.
  • You do not need a slide for the inside front cover and the inside back cover, which are already blank when printed.

Hint:

It’s very helpful to know that odd pages will be on the left the even pages are going to be on the right.

Slide 1Front Cover
---(Inside Front Cover) No slide represents this as it will be printed as a blank page.
Slide 2Page 1 (this will be the first page in your album and it will be printed on the right side of the book)
Slides 3 & 4

Pages 2 & 3

Slides 5 & 6Pages 4 & 5

You can add extra picture pages, etc. but we want the "ASK" slides to be kept in the order shown below, so please review how the pages will land when printed if you add or delete slides from the original template.
Second to last slideHow to Give page (this will be the last page in your album and it will be printed on the left side of the book)
---(Inside Back Cover) No slide represents this as it will be printed as a blank page.

No slide here, but imagine there is a phantom page in between the cover and the 2nd page in google slides. The inside of the front cover will be a nice black page, protecting the cover wrap.

The “This is us” page (which will be your second google slide) will be the first thing you see when you open the book (it will be the first page on the right.)

Slide 3 will be on the left and slide 4 will be on the right of the printed book.

We prefer that you keep slides 17 and 18 exactly as they are.

We want you keep slide 19 from the template. You can edit slide 20 to personalize with your own photo, but we want to keep a filler page here with no words. Remember we want to only make one "ASK" per page that they see.

We want you to keep slide 21 from the template. You can edit slide 22 to personalize with your own photo, but we want to keep a filler page here with no words. Remember we only want to make one "ASK" per page that they see.

You can personalize pages 23 and 24 by adding your own photos behind the question about joining as a prayer partner. or editing the image that goes along with the receiving prayer updates page, etc. This would be a good place that you could mention on the page that you have a blog, etc. But remember to keep this page with the same "ASK" theme of joining them in prayer, prayer updates, or how you will communicate with the donor.

The second to last slide will be on the left side of the very last page spread. Then imagine there is a phantom page in between the cover and the 2nd to last page in google slides. The inside back cover is the same black page as the inside front cover.

The last slide is the back cover. (This is a hard cover.)
