This section of the Field Manual is for current as well as new MTD coaches. We want to provide a plethora of information, strategies, and resources that you can use as you coach your field workers. If you ever have any questions, please email the current MTD Health & Coaching Specialist, Jenni.Saniuk@Reliant.org.
Getting Started
This section will talk through things a coach would need to get rolling with a field worker (or if you are a seasoned coach, these things are good reminders). Here you can find the following:
- The Coaching Role and Responsibilities
- Job Description
- Structure of Coaching
- MTD Coaching Agreement
- Introduction Email for Coach and Supervisor
- MTD Thresholds and Expectations
- Training Webinars
Tools to Use in MTD
This section helps to outline the 3 main tools people use while coaching.
- Goal Setting Worksheet - Used to help create goals for field workers
- Toolbox - how to use this as a coach
- Activity Tracking - How to do this as a coach in Toolbox
Coaching Bonus
In this section, you'll find information about your coaching bonus, when it is applicable, and then how to request it for your coaching hours.
Coaching Strategies
This section will outline a variety of strategies that we have seen used in the field and have been successful. These are strategies that are not readily taught at every training but could be useful for an individual field worker. These strategies include:
- Follow Up Strategies (more details)
- Giver Types and how to identify them
- Unexpected Stopped Giving and how to handle
Annual Coaching Rhythms
This section outlines specific seasons where coaches should encourage field workers to engage in certain aspects of MTD. These seasons may not work for every field worker, but these rhythms have been overall successful and can be a good place to start as you as a coach are jumping in.
- Initial MTD
- Post Release MTD
- End-of-Year Giving
- Giving Tuesday
- Increase Asks
