Now that the first 3 weeks have passed and you have established a coaching rhythm of individual coaching with your residents, you will now enter a maintenance stage of coaching. For the most part, coaching calls will be fairly routine. By now, you should have developed a plan with your residents, and from here it will be working the plan. They should know how many connection attempts they should make, how many appointments, etc. From now on, it will just be making sure they are doing the work and to answer any questions that they might have along the way.
As we have talked about, you will take time each month to reassess the goals/standards you have created. There really will not be a huge need to look at the support goal worksheets except for those weeks.
Prepping for the Call (15 minutes before the call):
Become familiar with the agenda below.
Take a look at their MTD activity tracking and PRM. Make notes and be prepared to ask questions or comment on anything that stands out to you.
Did they meet their weekly goals? Was it a good or a bad week? Do they have a lot of follow ups?
Pray!
Agenda:
Small Talk
See how things are going, how is work? how is family? Etc.
Ask them to pray to start the coaching call
Review of the Week (PMR/Activity Tracker)
Start by praising them for any accomplishments they wrote about on the PMR
Ask how the week of MTD went and see how they are doing. Give some time for any initial questions, thoughts, or concerns they might bring up from the week.
Did you note anything of significance from the PMR? Discuss this with them if needed.
Take a look at the Activity Tracking and note any questions or concerns you might have from their numbers for the week, were they very low in some categories? Why? Did they meet the weekly goal/standards from the plan you made with them? This is your opportunity to review numbers with them.
How do they feel with the plan? Have the weekly goals been manageable?
Looking Ahead
Go back to the PMR and review their agenda and plan for the week.
When do they plan to make connection attempts this week?
Any big appointments coming up this week?
Any potential obstacles coming up this week? Work, vacation, wedding, etc.
Do any of the goals need to be adjusted for the week? Only do this if it is necessary.
Follow Ups
Ask them how they are doing with follow-ups. Listen to their current plan for follow-ups and have them get specific.
How many people do they currently have in follow up land?
Do they feel equipped to make follow-ups? Maybe have them practice what they say during follow-ups with you.
Make sure they have a plan in place and they know when and how often to make follow-ups.
Ask them if they have a leaving piece and remind them that they have the option of ordering one from Copy Cat.
