Employees who are injured or become ill due to their employment may have some of their medical care costs covered under the worker's compensation program. Workers Compensation programs vary by state. Any employee who is injured while performing ministry responsibilities should seek appropriate medical care and then report their injury to their supervisor and Employment Services as soon as possible. See the additional information provided below for receiving care and reporting your injury, based on the specific state/location in which you normally work.
Things to Know
Although every state has different guidelines for the process of approving worker's compensation claims, the following general tips are helpful to follow when seeking care for a workers compensation claim:
- Please make sure you indicate to all medical care providers that this is a worker's compensation case and that all claims should be submitted to Reliant's applicable Worker's Compensation carrier for that state vs. processing the claim through your personal medical insurance.
- Please ensure ALL prescribed treatments and additional doctor's appt referrals/follow-ups are submitted to/approved by the worker's compensation carrier/claim representative assigned to your case. This is especially applicable for additional specialist referrals and PT appointments.
- Please make sure you're aware of the provider network for the Worker's Compensation coverage and that the medical treatment providers you receive treatment from accepting this coverage as "in-network."

Tonya Bartels Kathy mentioned this page to me. I don't know where these posters came form or if they are accurate. I will have Ed go ahead and post it with the change to employment services but we'll need to add an email address (I'd like to use benefits@reliant.org if I can get confirmation that's operational) and review all the content. We may ask user-2ce9f or user-63f97 to help with this project.

Barb Seckler I clicked on some of them and they link to websites, but some of them appear to be PDFs which we would have to check to see if they are up to date or not. I also am not sure that this list is complete. If any of these are for the Hartford, I know they are non-renewing some of our coverage so those may be changing in the near future anyway.

Oh Tonya Bartels Dave told me afterwards that he received these each year from the Hartford and normally has Kathy post these somewhere (Staffnet maybe) but she did a Solomon page this year. But next year when he gets the posters from our new carrier he'll forward to us to maintain this page.
