How to Activate your new HSA Debit Mastercard from Highmark

You will need to follow these steps before your are able to use your debit card for qualified expenses.

Step-by-step guide

1. Once you receive your new card in the mail, call the phone number found on the sticker on the front of your card.
   
2. When prompted you will need to enter the 16 digit card number and your birth month and year, example 0373 for March of 1973. Please note that the last four digits will be different for the other cardholders in your household, so you will need to activate each card individually.
3. Once your your activation has been confirmed you will need to logon to the Highmark website at www.highmarkbcbs.com to retrieve your PIN. 
   
4. Select the CLAIMS & SPENDING tab from the top menu.
   
5. Select the ACCESS SPENDING ACCOUNT button in the center of the page.
   
6. Select the Debit Card Icon from the top right menu. 
   
7. Select VIEW PIN, and the 4 digit number will be revealed. 
   
8. You are ready to use your Spending Account Debit Mastercard for qualified expenses.
