How Should I Use the MTD Timecard, MTD Goal Worksheet, and PMR?
One trick to being a good MTD coach is to invest a few minutes into preparing for your meeting each week. These two tools can be extremely helpful, for both the missionary and the coach, in understanding and analyzing the past week. It is highly recommended that the coach asks the missionary to get these submitted prior to the meeting, with enough time for them to be reviewed.
MTD Timecard
The MTD Timecard is the primary analysis tool for the MTD process. End results (dollars raised) are often not a clear indicator of the work being done by the support raiser. This tool gives insight into how much and what kind of work was done. An explanation of the metrics used on the timecard can be found on Staffnet. Personal Ministry Report
The Personal Ministry Report, or PMR, has a couple purposes. For the coach, it provides a snapshot of the missionary’s week, which allows the coach to get the most out of the weekly meeting by focusing on areas of need, as identified by the missionary. For the missionary, it is an opportunity to reflect on the past week and prepare for the next. This tool may be less helpful in an in-person meeting with more time allotted but can be invaluable for a long-distance phone meeting, especially if the coach and missionary are less acquainted.
