Current Travel Standards for Reliant Missionaries

Travel within the U.S.

All Reliant Missionaries traveling within the U.S. for all work/ministry-related travel, whether by car, plane, or other mode of transportation, that takes you outside of your usual ministry context (i.e. where you may travel to during your routine day-to-day duties) must obtain prior approval from Reliant using the Travel Notification Procedure - Standby for after COVID. This policy also applies to Associate Staff who are traveling for any Reliant-affiliated work or ministry reason, including MTD. When planning travel, allow enough time to complete the notification process, inform the appropriate people of travel plans, and gain approvals.

International Travel

Domestic or International missionaries traveling away from their country of residence to an international location for work/ministry - prohibited without prior approval from Reliant using the Travel Notification Procedure - Standby for after COVID.

International missionaries being released to assignment for work/ministry abroad - see International Checklist.

Some examples of these types of travel could include:

  • Short-term projects
  • Visiting another country
  • Conferences or Retreats
  • Furlough (this form should be filled out in addition to a Furlough form)
  • Visa Trips
  • Etc.

Reliant cannot restrict or endorse personal travel; it is a personal decision for each individual to make. We do request that you review the CDC's website for information on both international and domestic travel.

If you do need to cancel a trip, you can find information on reimbursements here

Any questions regarding these standards can be directed to your Program Team or to notifyHR@reliant.org.

Please complete the appropriate notification form and follow all steps within the form closely. These travel forms include a request for travel approval from your local supervisor (if applicable) and your Reliant Program Lead, emergency contact information for your destination(s), and an attestation that you agree to comply with health advisories related to COVID-19.
