  • A delightful card I've received was a paper Christmas ornament with pictures of the children the missionary ministers among. This type of gift lasts and is revisited year after year as it's hung on the Christmas tree.

*Note: This missionary forgot to include her name and ministry in this ornament/card. You'll notice I wrote it in on the back. If you're using this idea, make sure your face, name and ministry can be clearly seen. And, if using pics of those you minister among, please identify them as such.  For example, the text on the "Merry Christmas" side of the card could read, "Because of your support in (year), we know the story of Jesus!"

Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
    and his courts with praise!
    Give thanks to him; bless his name!
For the Lord is good;
    his steadfast love endures forever,
    and his faithfulness to all generations.

— Psalm 100:4-5

Here is what I did in my Thanksgiving email that seemed to get a lot of donor engagement:

  • Email - short and sweet, it could be read in 3 mins or less
  • Included a bulleted list of a few things I'm thankful for (mix of personal and ministry things)
  • Expressed gratitude for their partnership
  • Closed by asking them to send me things they are grateful for or things they'd like me to pray for **Here's what inspires donor engagement. Don't miss this step!

  • Printed card
    *Photo added to front of card. Ministry magnet attached to inside.
