Steps to Reduce Probability and Consequences
- Avoid high threat locations and events
- Practice situational awareness (Color Codes for Situational Awareness) and communicate routinely with the team leader
- Be prepared to activate Contingency Plan: Kidnapping Protocols if such a situation arises
- Continually monitor security threats

Credible Threat
- Determine the location and status of all personnel that might be affected
- Immediately relocate to a safe haven
- Notify all other personnel to Shelter in Place as appropriate
- Call the local authorities
- As soon as you are able, begin documenting all events. Eventually, move all documentation to the Tracking Log created by Reliant and shared with you in the one-drive team crisis management plan folder. The Tracking log will allow you to continue to document details and will also serve as a way to communicate those new updates to all parties involvedand gathering information
- Contact Reliant to report the incident: Crisis Reporting for International Incident
- Reliant will reach out to receive more details and complete an initial Crisis Reportfor their internal crisis report. Eventually, Reliant will share a communication tracking log that will serve as a way for team leaders and Shared Crisis Authority and Responsibility in Reliant Partnerships to all view communication updates between Reliant and the field team member
Shots Fired
- If possible, exit the building through an emergency exit and immediately relocate to a safe haven
- If you cannot travel safely, barricade yourself as best as possible and call the local authorities or an interpreter immediately followed by establishing contact with the Crisis Manager using the Emergency NumberReliant (Crisis Reporting for International Incident) unless doing so would put you in further danger. Mute all electronics to avoid detection by the shooter.
- Avoid confrontation at all costs. Engage the shooter only as a last resort.
- Notify all other personnel to Shelter in Place as appropriate
- Attend to any immediate medical needs if safe to do so while you await emergency assistance
- As soon as you are able, begin documenting all events. Eventually, move all documentation to the Tracking Log created by Reliant and shared with you in the one-drive team crisis management plan folder. The Tracking log will allow you to continue to document details and will also serve as a way to communicate those new updates to all parties involvedand gathering information

- Record any injuries and reach out to Reliant who will update victim information on the Crisis Reportin their report
- Determine accurate information regarding terrorist activity (you can use The Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) app as a resource)
- If there are any missing persons, contact local law enforcement to report them and simultaneously follow the Contingency Planning: Missing Person
- If you have the ability, coordinate with the CMT ICMT to decide the best course of action.
- As soon as you determine it to be safe, exit the building and immediately relocate to team facilities to follow shelter-in-place protocols
