Highmark Global Core Medical Insurance for Overseas Travel

Domestic employees that are covered on Reliant's GuideStone medical insurance plan are also automatically covered worldwide for overseas travel and therefore do not need to buy supplemental travel medical trip insurance. However, domestic employees covered by GuideStone, will need your Highmark BCBS card info available when contacting Global Core. Please see BCBS Global Core Medical Insurance information below for more details on how to file a claim online. |
Employees covered by Reliant's GuideStone Medical Insurance can use Highmark's Global Core network for medical expenses while overseas.
When receiving medical care outside of the US the plan switches from being covered by Highmark's BCBS services to the BCBS Global Core plan through GuideStone. With Global Core, any doctor or facility is considered in-network. If the employee were to go to a doctor or facility on the in-network provider list, the doctor or facility would submit the member claim and Global Core will guarantee payment. If the employee went to a doctor or facility not on the list, it is still treated as in-network but the employee would have to pay at the time of service and submit the claim manually to be reimbursed.
