The management of Reliant is committed to providing staff with a safe and healthy workplace. Reliant's policy is that staff members report unsafe conditions and do not perform work tasks if the work is considered unsafe. Staff members must report all accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to their supervisors and the Reliant Central OfficeCentral Team. No such report will result in retaliation, penalty, or other disincentives. Our management team will give staff members’ recommendations members recommendations to improve safety and health conditions thorough consideration. Management will give top priority to and provide the financial resources for the correction of unsafe conditions. Similarly, management will take disciplinary action against a staff member who willfully or repeatedly violates workplace safety rules. This action may include verbal or written reprimands and may ultimately result in termination of employment.

Each employee has access to a copy of this Safety Guide, through the Field Manual on Solomon, for review and future reference. Reliant will instruct all employees that compliance with the safety rules described in the workplace Safety Guide is required.

For non-emergency work-related injuries or illnesses requiring professional medical assistance, you must notify Employment Services before seeking non-emergent medical treatment. If you sustain an injury requiring treatment other than emergency medical treatment or minor first aid: 

  • Inform your supervisor.
  • Contact Employment Services at benefits@reliant.org or reach Reach out through your Program Team Liaison, who will connect you with an available member of the Employment Services team, or contact Employment Services at benefits@reliant.org.
  • Seek required medical assistance.
  • Provide details to your Program Liaison and your supervisor for the completion of the incident report.

Both incidents (events that caused injury to a person or damage to equipment, building, or materials) and near misses (events that could have caused injury to a person or damage to equipment, building, or materials) that involve Reliant staff members (employees or associates) must be reported to Reliant Central OfficeTeam.

The supervisor or leader at the location where the accident occurred will work with a member of the Central OfficeTeam to perform an accident investigation.

The Central Office Central Team is responsible for seeing that the Incident/Near Miss Reports are being filled out completely and that the recommendations are being addressed. Investigation of all accidents, injuries, and occupational diseases will use the following investigation procedures: 

  • Implement temporary control measures to prevent any further injuries to employees. 
  • Review the equipment, operations, and processes to gain an understanding of the accident situation. 
  • Identify and interview each witness and any other person who might provide clues to the accident's causes. 
  • Investigate causal conditions and unsafe acts; make conclusions based on existing facts. 
  • Complete the Incident/Near Miss Report. 
  • Provide recommendations for corrective actions. 
  • Indicate the need for additional or remedial safety training. 

Incident/Near Miss Reports must be submitted within 24 hours of the accident Notifications of incidents or near misses must be as soon as possible (preferably within one business day after the incident or near miss) by the supervisor of the staff member involved in the incident or another leader in the church or ministry. If a supervisor or leader is not available, the staff member may complete make the reportnotification

    • If an employee is injured while performing ministry responsibilities on the weekend or after normal business hours, email benefits@reliant.org to notify the Employee Services team.
