Determining Your Monthly Salary
For international workers, we use the same Reliant U.S. staff salary levels as our starting point. Together with your supervisor, we’ll determine the appropriate job level for your position and where you fall within that salary range based on your tenure and performance. This gives us a baseline, which we then adjust according to the cost of living in your ministry location.
To determine a fair and comparable salary for international workers, we start begin with the appropriate U.S. Reliant salary level . Then, we break that salary into three segments and adjust each one based on based on your job role, tenure, and performance. This serves as our baseline. We then adjust that salary—broken into three segments—according to the cost of living in your ministry location.

Examples:
We typically divide the household salary based on each spouse’s staff level. If both are at the same level, it’s a 50/50 split. If one spouse’s role accounts for more of the salary—say 40/60—the split reflects that. For example, in Japan, Spouse 1 might receive $3,700 and Spouse 2 $5,550. We’re also happy to adjust the percentage split if needed—just let us know. Some couples choose a different breakdown for tax reasons or other personal preferences. |
