We appreciate the ministry of supervision you provide our missionaries! One time a year, Reliant missionaries and supervisors evaluate their jobs and review their performance.  After After evaluations are completed, Reliant Missionary Resources and local supervisors work together to set salaries for the coming year. This year, we will also have the Reliant Missionaries do an evaluation of their supervisor. This is meant to bring open communication between missionary and supervisor , and to be a safe place for talking thorugh through the supervisor/missionary relationship.

The Reliant board has approved a 3% raise for all Reliant missionaries for 2017.  Then, Then if a missionary seems ready to move up into a new Missionary Level, has been ordained or commissioned , or otherwise seems to warrant a higher salary increase based off of your review, Mike Swan, Missionary Resources Directordirector, will discuss those with your church/ministry leadership in November. 

Salary levels and salaries will be determined by several key factors. To determine the Ministry Level, we consider scope and burden of responsibility, formal training , and years of experience related to the role.  New Salaries New salaries are based on these factors, as well as cost-of-living factors (inflation and geography) and job performance.

  • Now-November 1st1Complete the evaluation of your Reliant Missionaries and send to share with hr@reliant.org.

  • November 1st1: Deadline for Reliant to receive your evaluation
  • November 2nd2-November 30th30: Schedule with Mike Swann a time for Compensation Review
    • Reliant will send out a follow-up email in November to schedule this time
  • December 15th15: Compensation Notices go out to missionaries
  • January 15th15: Deadline for missionaries to accept new salaries

    • The Evaluation is available as an attachment to this email.
    • If you have trouble opening the Excel form please contact hr@reliant.org.

  2. Complete one form for each missionary you supervise.
    • Complete the first tab of the evaluation form for ALL missionaries. 
    • If you believe that it may be close to time for a promotion to a new staff level, complete either the Missionary tab or the Pastor/Minister/Ministry Supervisor tab, depending on their staff level.  If If they are not close to a promotion, you may skip this step. 
    • Meet with the missionary you are supervising.
    • Regarding how much of the evaluation you share with that missionary, we do not have a policy. However, the evaluation is an excellent tool for feedback and growth.  Passionate Passionate missionaries like to know how they are doing and how they can grow. 

  3. Email Completed Evaluation Forms to hr@reliant.org by Sunday, November 1st.

  4. Please be available for a phone call with Mike Swann or Cori Crawford Van Oss between November 2nd and November 30th. These calls typically last 20-30 minutes.  We We will review together changes needed in ministry levels and salaries. We will send out a sign-up for times as November approaches. 
     
  5. The missionaries will be notified of their new salary offers on Staffnet in mid-December.  January January 15th is their deadline for accepting the offer and setting new support goals.
