As a non-profit Christian ministry, the ministries of Reliant Ministries are is almost entirely funded via donations. All Reliant missionaries (with some exceptions, e.g. for administrative support staff) are required to engage in the fund-raising fundraising process known as Ministry Team Development (MTD) or "support raising" on behalf of the ministry. The missionary solicits funds on behalf of Reliant from individuals, families, churches, businesses and other donors. All contributions, whether cash, tangible property, or assets of any kind, are the sole property of Reliant and not the fundraiser. These funds are to be used exclusively in fulfilling the ministry purposes of Reliant. All funds are controlled by Reliant and its Board of Directors.

Policies here pertain to all deputized fundraisers for Reliant, including employed missionaries, qualified volunteers (“Associate Staff”) , and affiliated project fundraisers. All these may interchangeably be referenced as below “field staff” “staff” “missionary” “solicitor,” “deputized fundraiser” or fundraiser. In situations pertaining only to those with employed status, this manual will specifically use "employed missionary" or "employee."

Manual and New Staff Training

Reliant maintains a training manual for Ministry Team Development designed to accompany the course of instruction in New Staff Training. While this section sets out policies and expectations and ethical standards, the MTD Training Manual expands on these and includes instruction on theological and biblical foundations on fundraising, approved methodology for fundraising and best practices.
