It's Time for Fall Evaluations and New Salaries

We appreciate the ministry of supervision you provide our missionaries! One time a year, Reliant missionaries and supervisors evaluate their jobs and review their performance.  After evaluations are completed, Reliant Missionary Resources and local supervisors work together to set salaries for the coming year.   We have you listed as the supervisor for the missionaries listed below. If this has changed, please email hr@gcmweb.org to update the information.

Salary Setting

The board will set a flat percentage raise for all missionaries.  Then, if a missionary seems ready to move up into a new Missionary Level, has been ordained or commissioned, or otherwise seems to warrant a higher salary increase based off of your review, Mike Swann or Cori Crawford-Van Oss will discuss those with your church/ministry leadership in November. 

Salary levels and salaries will be determined by several key factors. To determine the Ministry Level, we consider scope and burden of responsibility, formal training, and experience related to the role.  New Salaries are based on these factors, as well as cost-of-living factors (inflation and geography) and job performance. 

 

Dates to Keep In Mind

  • October 1st-November 1st: Complete the evaluation of your Reliant Missionaries and send to hr@reliant.org.

  • November 1st: Deadline for Reliant to receive your evaluation
  • November 2nd-November 30th: Schedule with Mike Swann a time for Compensation Review
  • December 15th: Compensation Notices go out to missionaries
  • January 15th: Deadline for missionaries to accept new salaries

What to do Next?

  1. The Evaluation is available as an attachment to this email.
  2. Complete one form for each missionary you supervise.
    • Complete the first tab of the evaluation form for ALL missionaries. 
    • If you believe that it may be close to time for a promotion to a new staff level, complete either the Missionary tab or the Pastor/Minister/Ministry Supervisor tab, depending on their staff level.  If they are not close to a promotion, you may skip this step. 
    • Meet with the missionary you are supervising.
    • Regarding how much of the evaluation you share with that missionary, we do not have a policy. However, the evaluation is an excellent tool for feedback and growth.  Passionate missionaries like to know how they are doing and how they can grow. 

  3. Email Completed Evaluation Forms to hr@reliant.org by Sunday, November 1st.

  4. Please be available for a phone call with Mike Swann or Cori Crawford Van Oss between November 2nd and November 30th. These calls typically last 20-30 minutes.  We will review together changes needed in ministry levels and salaries. We will send out a sign-up for times as November approaches. 
     
  5. The missionaries will be notified of their new salary offers on Staffnet in mid-December.  January 15th is their deadline for accepting the offer and setting new support goals.
