What is SmartShopper?

As a participant in Guidestone's medical coverage, you are eligible to use this cost-saving service to find the most cost-effective provider for a number of procedures, get assistance in scheduling the procedure, and even receive a cash reward of up to $500 should you choose a more cost-effective option!  SmartShopper allows you to earn cash rewards of up to $1,000 and reduce your out-of-pocket health care costs by shopping for health care procedures. SmartShopper helps you compare your in-network options.

How do I sign up?

1. Log onto the Highmark websiteand click the box that looks like the image above. The link is located at the bottom of Member Home page., and from the Top Menu select Get Care. Earn Rewards Smart Shopper will be on the right-hand side of the menu. Or you can follow this link: SmartShopper Rewards. 
2. Follow the steps in the pop-up box to complete your registration.
3. Make sure your browser allows cookies from the SmartShopper website. There is an option in the upper-right corner of your browser to allow cookies.

How do I receive a reward?

1. Get a prescription for a procedure that is included in this program. Some of those procedures include:
   • Radiology Procedures
     • MRIs 
     • CT Scans
     • PET Scans
     • Mammograms
     • Some Ultrasounds
   • Outpatient Diagnostic Procedures
     • Endoscopy
     • Colonoscopy
   • Some Outpatient Surgeries
     • Carpal Tunnel Surgery
     • Bladder Scope Repair
     • Other surgeries
   • Some Inpatient Surgeries
     • Back Surgery
     • Hip Replacement
     • Knee Replacement
     • Other surgeries
2. Log onto the website or call the Personal Assistant Team for options for the procedure and assistance in scheduling your procedure. If you choose a more cost-effective option, you may be eligible for a cash reward. These rewards will be clearly labeled next to the providers available and their estimated procedure cost.
3. Have your scheduled procedure.
4. Receive a check for the cash reward 60 days after the procedure, should you be eligible.
