Missionaries, this is important information regarding donations that are given at the end of the year. Please read the following carefully since this can impact when a gift is applied to your account.

  • If a donor mails an end-of-year check directly to you, please be sure to save the envelope and send it in with the check. The December 2021 postmark on the envelope proves that it is a 2021 donation. If a check is dated 2021, but the postmark on the envelope is 2022, this can't count as a 2021 gift.
  • Please check your mailboxes early in the new year for these types of gifts and send them immediately to Reliant. They must be received by January 12, 2022, to be included with 2021 gifts.
  • With the added volume of checks processed at the end of the year, checks dated 2021 that Reliant receives past December 31, 2021, and are NOT accompanied by a postmarked envelope, will be processed as a 2022 donation.
  • Due to the high volume of gifts processed at the end of the year, it is not possible for Reliant to contact each missionary regarding 2021 checks that are missing the 2021 postmarked envelope. So it is vital that the missionary understands the requirement of the 2021 postmarked envelope and includes the donor's envelope when mailing the check to Reliant.

November 30, 2021

  • Gifts received in the Reliant office for expiring backpay. This is the last business day for gifts to be received by Reliant to help pay your December 15 payroll, including any 2019 backpay, which will expire after December payroll is completed.

December 23-24, 2021

  • No gift processing. Reliant office closed. 

December 28, 29, 2021

  • Limited Reliant Office personnel is available. Please make sure that you leave a message with your name and phone number if you call the office and are sent to voicemail.  
  • Reminder: for Gift Services, please have donors call 877-614-4600 (Gift Services' direct line) or email: gift.services@reliant.org
  • December 29 will be the last business day the Reliant office is open in 2021.

December 30, 31, 2021

  • No gift processing. Reliant office closed. (Calls will go to voicemail and be returned as the Gift Services team is able, but possibly not until January). 
  • December 31 - Final day for 2021 tax year gifts. Check donors who want to count their gift as a tax deduction in 2021 need to mail their check, so it's postmarked by December 31, 2021.  Please see the pink information box at the top of this page for additional requirements for 2021 checks to be received by Reliant and counted towards 2021 giving statements. 
  • December 31 - Final day for online giving to count for 2021 (deadline Midnight EST). 

January 3, 2022

  • Deadline for Reliant to receive 2021 check donations to be used to pay your paycheck on January 14.  December 2021 check gifts received after this cutoff (but received by the January 12 deadline) will still be counted as December gifts, but they will be reserved and used toward the balance available to pay your February 15, 2022 paycheck.

January 12, 2022

  • All December gifts sent directly to you by donors must be received in the Reliant office by January 12. This is the final accounting deadline for 2021 "late checks" to be recorded as 2021 giving for tax-deduction purposes. This only counts for checks which were postmarked in 2021. (Our auditors check the postmark date on the envelope to prove the donation was mailed in 2021, so please save the envelope and mail it with the check!) Please check your mailboxes early in the new year for these types of gifts and immediately send them to Reliant to be received by the January 12 deadline.  
  • If you are mailing checks using a guaranteed delivery service for delivery on January 12 - please make sure you select the delivery option for early AM delivery or guaranteed delivery by 1:00 PM. To allow for sufficient processing time by our Gift Services team, Reliant will be unable to guarantee a 2021 gift date for packages containing 2021 checks received after 1:00 PM EST on January 12. 
  • Deadline for any remaining 2021 reimbursements must be submitted to Reliant by 11:59 PM Eastern time. You must submit any remaining October, November, or December 2021 reimbursements by this date. The standard three-month submission window does not apply during this time of year. 

January 20, 2022

  • Reimbursements paid. Reimbursements submitted in December will be eligible for payment on this date. Also, any previously submitted 2021 reimbursements that now have funding available will be paid out on this day. 

January 31, 2022

  • Reimbursements paid. Any 2021 reimbursements submitted in January and any remaining unpaid reimbursements from 2019 and 2020, which are eligible for payment, will be paid on this date. We will use the full MTD account balance available for payment, which includes any additional December 2021 gifts which were received by January 12. Please keep in mind Reliant may only pay reimbursements once a missionary has received all outstanding backpay.
