First Recurring Gift
Donors are encouraged to mail checks directly to Reliant, written payable to Reliant with the missionary name and fund number in the memo line. When a missionary ends up with a check from a donor, the missionary is instructed to send the checks to Gift Services at Reliant.
Donors are also encouraged to submit their contact and giving information directly to Reliant at reliant.org. We also provide the How to Start Giving card that donors may mail in with their check directly to Reliant.
Q: A donor prefers to give by check. What do I do?
A: First, remember to thank them!
Make sure the check is made out to Reliant with your name and fund number included in the memo line. The donor can do one of three things:
- Set up a profile on Reliant.org, where they can start a new recurring gift indicating they want to give by check, then send their first check directly to Reliant.
- Fill out a How to Start Giving card and send it directly to Reliant with their first check.
- Send the first check directly to Reliant. You will need to complete the New Gift Form on Staffnet and email it to gift.services@reliant.org ideally before the check arrives at Reliant. This ensures the gift is correctly directed to the account you are responsible for.
Q: What if the donor gave the first check directly to me?
A: If the check is made out to Reliant, send the check to Reliant with a completed New Gift Form from Staffnet or How to Start Giving card. This ensures the gift is correctly directed to the account you are responsible for.
Q: Can I send Reliant more than one check and New Gift Form at a time?
A: Yes. You can usually fit four New Gift Forms and four checks in an envelope for the cost of a regular stamp. If you have more than four checks, consider using a large envelope, which costs less than sending multiple smaller envelopes.
Q: Where do I send the checks and New Gift Forms?
A: Mail the checks to Reliant-MTD, 11002 Lake Hart Dr., Ste. 100, Orlando, FL 32832-7106
Q: What if the check is made out to me instead of Reliant?
A: First, ask them to rewrite it to Reliant. If you can’t get them to re-write it...
