If a donor mails an end-of-year check directly to you, you must save the envelope and send it in with the check. The December 2020 postmark on the envelope serves as proof that it is a 2020 donation. If a check is dated in 2020, but the postmark on the envelope is 2021, that will not count as a 2020 gift. Please check your mailboxes early in the new year for these types of gifts and immediately send them to Reliant. They must be received by January 13, 2020, to be included with 2020 gifts. IMPORTANT - With the added volume of checks being processed at the end of the year, checks dated 2020 received past December 31st, 2020 that are NOT accompanied by a postmarked envelope will be processed as 2021. Reliant will not contact the missionary regarding 2020 checks that are missing the 2020 post-marked envelope. This responsibility will rest with the missionary to understand the requirement of the 2020 post-marked envelope and include that when mailing the check to Reliant. |
November 30, 2020
- Gifts in for expiring backpay. This is the last business day for gifts to be received by Reliant to help pay your December 15 payroll, including any 2018 backpay that will expire after December payroll is completed.
December 24-25, 2020
- No gift processing. Reliant office closed.
December 28, 29, 30, 2020
- Limited Reliant Office personnel available. Please make sure if you call the office and are sent to voicemail that you leave a message with your name and phone number.
- December 30th will be the last business day the Reliant office is open in 2020.
December 31, 2020
- Final day for 2020 tax year gifts. Donors who want to count their gift as a tax deduction in 2020 need to give it by the final day of the year. Checks dated and postmarked by December 31, 2020, but received in 2021 will continue to be processed as 2020 gifts through January 13.
- Final day for online giving to count for 2020.

January 1, 2021
- No gift processing. Reliant office closed.

January 2, 2021
- Deadline to receive 2020 gifts to pay your paycheck on January 15. December gifts received after this cutoff (but by the January 13 deadline) will still be counted as December gifts, but they will be reserved and used toward the balance available to pay your February 12, 2021 paycheck.
January 6th, 2021
- The normal credit card Lifelink batch on the 5th of the month will be delayed and processed on January 6th.
January 13, 2021
- All December gifts sent directly to you by donors must be received by Reliant by January 13. This is the final accounting deadline for 2020 "late checks" to be recorded as 2020 giving for tax-deduction purposes. This only counts for checks that were postmarked in 2020. (Our auditors check the postmark date on the envelope to prove the donation was mailed in 2020, so please save the envelope and mail it with the check!) Please check your mailboxes early in the new year for these types of gifts and immediately send them to Reliant to be received by the January 13 deadline.
- If you are mailing checks using a guaranteed delivery service for delivery on January 13th - please make sure you select the delivery option for early AM delivery or guaranteed delivery by 1:00 PM. To allow for sufficient processing time by our Gift Services team, Reliant will be unable to guarantee a 2020 gift date for packages containing 2020 checks received after 1:00 PM EST on January 13th.
- Deadline for any remaining 2020 reimbursements to be submitted to Reliant by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time. You must submit any remaining October, November or December 2020 reimbursements by this date. The normal three-month submission window does not apply during this time of year.
January 20, 2021
- Reimbursements paid. Reimbursements submitted in December will be eligible for payment on this date. Also any previously submitted 2020 reimbursements that now have funding available will pay out on this day.
January 29, 2021
- Reimbursements paid. Any 2020 reimbursements submitted in January, and any remaining unpaid reimbursements from 2018 and 2019, that are eligible for payment will be paid on this date. We will use the full MTD account balance available for payment, which includes any additional December 2020 gifts that were received by January 13. Please keep in mind Reliant can only pay reimbursements once a missionary has received all outstanding backpay.
