Patients who purchase insulin through the Express Scripts Patient Assurance Program (PAP) can save dramatically on their co-pays if they choose the correct brand.

The program allows individuals to purchase participating diabetes products, including insulin, and pay no more than $25 for each 30-day supply. The four types of insulin covered through the program include:

• Humalog

• Humulin

• Lantus

• Levemir

titleHow do I pay for my medicine?

The most convenient way to pay for your prescriptions is with Express Scripts Autopay service. Autopay lets you tell Express Scripts which credit card, debit card or checking account you'd like to charge for all prescription orders linked to your member ID number (including prescriptions for members covered by your benefits). You can even set this up using your HSA.

  • To sign up for Autopay, choose the Autopay option the next time you order online. Or, you can call the toll-free Customer Service number on your member ID card (1-800-555-3432).
  • If you prefer to go through that process for every one of your orders, you could charge your prescriptions to a credit card, debit card or a checking account, or use our digital wallet options of PayPal and MasterPass each time you ask Express Scripts to send you medicine. If you order online, just follow the prompts during the checkout process. 
  • Finally, you can ask Express Scripts to bill you. Then you could pay the bill online or send that bill back to Express Scripts in the mail with a credit card, debit card or check.
