Once a year, Reliant missionaries and supervisors evaluate their jobs and review their performances. After evaluations are completed, Reliant Missionary Resources works together with supervisors to set updated salaries for the coming year.


Salary Setting

The Reliant board has approved a 3% raise for all Reliant missionaries for 2019. If a missionary seems to warrant an additional salary increase, Mike Swann or Cori Crawford Van Oss will discuss that with your church/ministry leadership during a compensation review conversation in May.

Missionary staff levels and salaries will be determined by several key factors. To determine the Ministry Level, we consider scope and burden of responsibility, formal training and years of experience related to the role. New salaries are based on these factors, as well as cost-of-living factors (inflation and geography) and job performance. 

Please be sure to indicate when the opportunity for additional salary increases exist in the evaluation. The types of things to note include:

  • Transitions into new Missionary Levels
  • New credentialing related to the ministry, such as ordination, commissioning or completion of educational degrees and professional licensing
  • Exemplary performance 
  • Additional responsibility


Dates to keep in mind

  • March 15 - April 30Sept. 19 - Oct. 31: Evaluations – Complete an Evaluation of each of your Reliant missionaries and submit by sharing with mr@reliant.org

  • April 30Oct. 31: Deadline for Reliant to receive your evaluations.
  • May Nov. 1 - May 31Dec. 4: Compensation Review conversations between Mike Swann or Cori Crawford Van Oss CJ White and local supervisors.

    • May 17Nov. 20: Deadline for scheduling an appointment with Mike Swann or Cori CJ White for the Compensation Review.
  • June 15Dec. 17: Compensation Notices go out to missionaries.
  • July 15Jan. 16: Deadline for missionaries to accept new salaries.
