Subject: Key MTD Follow-Up Strategies

"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand" - Isaiah 41:10

As we move into the middle of this summer support-raising season, let us take a moment and be reminded of who God is and the calling that He has placed before you. We  KNOW that we KNOW that the Lord is walking with you in this season. What a comfort that is. Support raising is hard. For some, it's one of the most challenging seasons you have been in. We get it. I promise we get it. And we are here to help.

We know this is the season where following up with people becomes challenging. We want to give 3 strategies that can help move things forward.

3 Key Strategies to move people out of Follow Up Land:

  1. In the initial appointment, be sure to set up the next time you will connect with them!
    1. Keep the ball in your court.
    2. Suggest that you connect in 1-2 days and see how they respond.
    3. "Today's Friday, I'd love to reconnect on Sunday evening to see what you are thinking. Would that work?"

  2. Use milestone dates to encourage people to sign up to give.
    1. "I am working to get 50% funded by July 1st. Would you be able to start giving this week to help me meet my goal?"
    2. "I am spending this summer raising my full support for my program. I am working to see how much I have left to raise. Would you be able to start giving this week so I can best see how much I have remaining to raise?"
  1. Follow up MORE often than you are.
    1. For some, signing up to give can take 7 conversations from the appointment.
    2. Calling/texting someone every 2 days for a week is very likely not going to bother them.
    3. You can use different communication methods: email, text, phone, in person. Mix it up.

Hey. You got this. Take it one day at a time. Pray often and loudly. And trust that the Lord will provide in this season.

"Therefore, my beloved brothers and sister, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain." - 1 Corinthians 15:58
