If a donor mails an end-of-year check directly to you, you must save the envelope and send it in with the check. The December 2017 postmark on the envelope serves as proof that it is a 2017 donation. If a check is dated in 2017, but the postmark on the envelope is 2018, that will not count as a 2017 gift.

Please check your mailboxes early in the new year for these types of gifts and immediately send them to Reliant. They must be received by January 17, 2018, to be included with 2017 gifts.

November 30, 2017

Gifts in for expiring backpay. This is the last business day for gifts to be received by Reliant to help pay your December 15 payroll, including any 2015 backpay that will expire after December payroll is completed.

December 25, 26, & 29, 2017

No gift processing. Reliant office closed. (This means Dec. 28 is the LAST business day in 2017 the Reliant office will be open for business, accepting donor calls etc.)

December 31, 2017

Final day for 2017 tax year gifts. Donors who want to count their gift as a tax deduction in 2017 need to give it by the final day of the year. Checks dated and postmarked by December 31, 2017, but received in 2018 will continue to be processed as 2017 gifts through January 17.

January 1, 2018

No gift processing. Reliant office closed.

January 3, 2018

Deadline to receive 2017 gifts to pay your paycheck on January 12. December 2017 gifts received after this cutoff (but by the January 17 deadline) will still be counted as December gifts, but they will be reserved and used toward the balance available to pay your February 15, 2018 paycheck.

January 17, 2018

All December gifts sent directly to you by donors must be received by Reliant by January 17. This is the final accounting deadline for 2017 "late checks" to be received in the Reliant office to be recorded as 2017 giving for tax-deduction purposes. This only counts for checks that were postmarked in 2017. (Our auditors check the postmark date on the envelope to prove the donation was mailed in 2017, so please save the envelope and mail it with the check!) Please check your mailboxes early in the new year for these types of gifts and immediately send them to Reliant to be received by the January 17 deadline.
Deadline for any remaining 2017 reimbursements to be submitted to Reliant by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time. You must submit any remaining October, November or December 2017 reimbursements by this date. The normal three-month submission window does not apply during this time of year.

January 19, 2018

Reimbursements paid. Reimbursements submitted in December will be eligible for payment on this date. Also any previously submitted 2017 reimbursements that now have funding available will pay out on this day.

January 31, 2018

Reimbursements paid. Any 2017 reimbursements submitted in January, and any remaining unpaid reimbursements from 2015 and 2016, that are eligible for payment will be paid on this date. We will use the full MTD account balance available for payment, which includes any additional December 2017 gifts that were received by January 17. Please keep in mind Reliant can only pay reimbursements once a missionary has received all outstanding backpay.
