Review the Child and Vulnerable Adult Safety policy.


Complete the MinistrySafe Sexual Abuse Awareness course. You'll receive an email invitation from hr@reliant.org. The subject line will start with "Here is your link to the..." and will include your unique link to the MinistrySafe course.

Review the Workplace Harassment and Discrimination policy.


Complete required LEARN courses. You will receive an email from learn@reliant.org informing you of your enrollment in the LEARN courses and how to access them.


Complete the Ministry Experience Survey. This survey can be found on the LEARN Dashboard.

All employees must take the Sexual Abuse Awareness course (length 1.5 hours) and the Harassment & Discrimination Prevention course (length 45 minutes).

  • The Skillful Screening Course (length: 2.25 hours) is optional. This course may be helpful to you if you oversee a children's or youth ministry or if you are involved in interviews or the hiring process for staff or volunteers. If you would like to take the course and do not see it on your MinistrySafe home page, email hr@reliant.org.

For most staff, the training will take just over 2 hours. All of the courses can be taken at the user's own pace and they do not have to be completed in one sitting. Here's more detailed information about the Required Education Courses.

All employees will also partake in a Ministry Experience Survey: This survey will give you the opportunity to provide feedback on your ministry experience and the services that Reliant provides to you as ministry staff.

If you are a Supervisor/Manager you will also need to complete the following course in LEARN: 

  1. Harassment & Discrimination Prevention: Manager Module (length: 45 mintues): Take this course if you supervise other Reliant staff OR are at a staff level of Pastor, Minister, Manager, or Director.

She regularly presents at Missio Nexus conferences and events and is an Advisor at Large for Church Tax & Law. MinistrySafe has literally trained millions of church and ministry staff members and volunteers since its inception. After decades of litigating sexual abuse cases, Gregory Love and Kimberlee Norris founded MinistrySafe to help ministries meet legal standards of care and reduce the risk of sexual abuse by creating preventative measures tailored to fit the needs of churches and ministry programs. With over 50 years of combined experience in sexual abuse litigation, consultation, and crisis management, Love and Norris understand the risk of sexual abuse and how it unfolds in children’s programming. We realize that not all of our Reliant Missionaries and Associates work directly with children under the age of 18 in their church or ministry. However, many do work with college-aged students, young adults, or other members of a vulnerable population who may be susceptible to grooming and abuse. The principles shared in the training can also apply to those groups. And even if you don't feel like what you learn about in the MinistrySafe course is relevant to your day-to-day work, we hope the training increases your awareness of the issue and teaches you how to help recognize and prevent sexual abuse in any context that you may be.    


The courses are available to you, your supervisor, and your ministry leaders (even if Reliant does not employ them). You will need to complete the course on your own. However, we encourage you to discuss as a team how this information and the related policies may impact your ministry work.
