Q: A donor has asked if Reliant can accept gifts of cryptocurrency (Bitcoin, Ethereum, DogeCoin, etc.) Is this possible?
A: Yes! Donations of cryptocurrency are welcome.
Q: How are cryptocurrency gifts processed?
A: Our platform for receiving a crypto gift is www.Engiven.com. Engiven serves non-profits in accepting and converting cryptocurrency gifts to USD. All cryptocurrency donations are sold immediately and converted to USD the moment the cryptocurrency donation is received by Engiven. The USD funds are automatically transferred to Reliant's bank account. Currently, Engiven accepts 39 different kinds of cryptocurrencies. You can find out more about Engiven on their website: www.Engiven.com
Q: Does Engiven charge a fee for their services?
A: Yes. As with any service created to provide solutions such as this, there is a fee involved. Engiven charges Reliant 4% of the exchanged USD value of the crypto gift. The 4% Engiven fee is split between the Reliant missionary MTD account or the church/project fund and Reliant's general funds. 1% of the Engiven fee is paid for out of Reliant's general funds. The remaining 3% is charged to the intended Reliant missionary MTD account or church/project fund (just like the 3% credit card fee is charged on all credit card donations to Reliant missionary and church/project accounts).
Q: A donor has told me they gave Reliant a cryptocurrency donation but has not received confirmation from Reliant. What should I do?
A: It is very likely that Reliant received the donation without all the information needed to process the donation internally.
Q: A donor has told me they gave Reliant a cryptocurrency donation but I have not seen it appear on Toolbox. What should I do?
A: It is very likely that Reliant received the donation without all the information needed to process the gift. Without an entry in the memo field of the form, Reliant is unable to properly connect the gift with the correct intended Reliant missionary MTD account or church/project fund.
