An Affiliated Project Fundraiser generally is not a U.S. citizen. U.S. citizens who want to raise funds for a ministry project fund should generally apply to be an Associate Staff with Reliant Mission. Associate Staff are considered Reliant volunteers who have been approved to conduct ministry and raise donations on behalf of Reliant and to incur ministry expenses, reimbursable according to Reliant's accountable reimbursement plan. Associate staff are not employees or independent contractors of Reliant.

A ministry partner with Reliant might identify either a worker or someone who wishes to raise funds for the ministry partner but does not fit into one of our employment categories of missionary or Associate. This might be because the person is ineligible to work in the U.S. or has a unique set of circumstances. An Affiliated Project Fundraiser (APF) might be a good option for the ministry partner. An APF is:

While a ministry partner can establish a ministry project fund with Reliant solely to be used as salary support for the APF, the name of the Reliant project fund must always be the ministry project name and not the name of the worker. Supporting the APF and covering ministry expenses can be accomplished through a grant to the ministry partner. See Grant Process for more information.

APF Application

Complete the APF Application and share it with projectfundraising@reliant.org for processing.

If there is not an existing ministry project fund related to the APF's ministry partner, or if the purpose of a ministry project fund is to solely be salary support for an APF, the following documentation must be collected prior to the ministry project fund being approved and created with Reliant:

The APF will also be required to complete Reliant's Ministry Team Development (MTD) fundraising training. MTD training will be arranged during the assessment phase of the application process.
