If a donor mails an end-of-year check directly to you, you must save the envelope and send it in with the check. The December 2019 postmark on the envelope serves as proof that it is a 2019 donation. If a check is dated in 2019, but the postmark on the envelope is 2020, that will not count as a 2019 gift.

Please check your mailboxes early in the new year for these types of gifts and immediately send them to Reliant. They must be received by January 13, 2020, to be included with 2019 gifts.

IMPORTANT - With the added volume of checks being processed at the end of the year, checks dated 2019 received past December 31st, 2019 that are NOT accompanied by a postmarked envelope will be processed as 2020. Reliant will not contact the missionary regarding 2019 checks that are missing the 2019 post-marked envelope as in previous years. This responsibility will rest with the missionary to understand the requirement of the 2019 post-marked envelope and include that when mailing the check to Reliant.

November 29, 2019

Gifts in for expiring backpay. This is the last business day for gifts to be received by Reliant to help pay your December 13 payroll, including any 2018 backpay that will expire after December payroll is completed.

December 24-25, 2019

No gift processing. Reliant office closed.

December 26, 27, 30, 2019

Limited Reliant Office personnel available. Please make sure if you call the office and are sent to voicemail that you leave a message with your name and phone number.
December 30th will be the last business day the Reliant office is open in 2019.

December 31, 2019

Final day for 2019 tax year gifts. Donors who want to count their gift as a tax deduction in 2019 need to give it by the final day of the year. Checks dated and postmarked by December 31, 2019, but received in 2020 will continue to be processed as 2019 gifts through January 13.

January 1, 2020

No gift processing. Reliant office closed.

January 2, 2020

Deadline to receive 2019 gifts to pay your paycheck on January 15. December 2019 gifts received after this cutoff (but by the January 13 deadline) will still be counted as December gifts, but they will be reserved and used toward the balance available to pay your February 14, 2020 paycheck.

January 13, 2020

All December gifts sent directly to you by donors must be received by Reliant by January 13. This is the final accounting deadline for 2019 "late checks" to be received in the Reliant office to be recorded as 2019 giving for tax-deduction purposes. This only counts for checks that were postmarked in 2019. (Our auditors check the postmark date on the envelope to prove the donation was mailed in 2019, so please save the envelope and mail it with the check!) Please check your mailboxes early in the new year for these types of gifts and immediately send them to Reliant to be received by the January 13 deadline.
If you are mailing checks using a guaranteed delivery service for delivery on January 13th - please make sure you select the delivery option for early AM delivery or guaranteed delivery by 1:00 PM. To allow for sufficient processing time by our Gift Services team, Reliant will be unable to guarantee a 2019 gift date for packages containing 2019 checks received after 1:00 PM EST on January 13th.
Deadline for any remaining 2019 reimbursements to be submitted to Reliant by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time. You must submit any remaining October, November or December 2019 reimbursements by this date. The normal three-month submission window does not apply during this time of year.

January 17, 2020

Reimbursements paid. Reimbursements submitted in December will be eligible for payment on this date. Also any previously submitted 2019 reimbursements that now have funding available will pay out on this day.

January 31, 2020

Reimbursements paid. Any 2019 reimbursements submitted in January, and any remaining unpaid reimbursements from 2017 and 2018, that are eligible for payment will be paid on this date. We will use the full MTD account balance available for payment, which includes any additional December 2019 gifts that were received by January 13. Please keep in mind Reliant can only pay reimbursements once a missionary has received all outstanding backpay.
