The management of Reliant is committed to providing staff with a safe and healthy workplace. Reliant's policy is that staff members report unsafe conditions and do not perform work tasks if the work is considered unsafe. Staff members must report all accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to their supervisors and the Reliant Central OfficeCentral Team. No such report will result in retaliation, penalty, or other disincentives. Our management team will give staff members’ recommendations to improve safety and health conditions thorough consideration. Management will give top priority to and provide the financial resources for the correction of unsafe conditions. Similarly, management will take disciplinary action against a staff member who willfully or repeatedly violates workplace safety rules. This action may include verbal or written reprimands and may ultimately result in termination of employment.

For non-emergency work-related injuries or illnesses requiring professional medical assistance, you must notify Employment Services before seeking non-emergent medical treatment. If you sustain an injury requiring treatment other than emergency medical treatment or minor first aid: 

  • Inform your supervisor.
  • Contact Employment Services at benefits@reliant.org or reach Reach out through your Program Team Liaison, who will connect you with an available member of the Employment Services team, or contact Employment Services at benefits@reliant.org.
  • Seek required medical assistance.
  • Provide details to your Program Liaison and your supervisor for the completion of the incident report.

Both incidents (events that caused injury to a person) and near misses (events that could have caused injury to a person) that involve Reliant staff members (employees or associates) must be reported to Reliant Central OfficeTeam.

The supervisor or leader at the location where the accident occurred will work with a member of the Central OfficeTeam to perform an accident investigation.

The Central Office Central Team is responsible for seeing that the Incident/Near Miss Reports are being filled out completely and that the recommendations are being addressed. Investigation of all accidents, injuries, and occupational diseases will use the following investigation procedures:
