Telios Teaches

Theresa Sidebotham, the instructor in the Telios Teaches courses, is an attorney and one of the leading experts in employment law for religious and nonprofit workplaces. She regularly presents at Missio Nexus conferences and events and is an Advisor at Large for Church Tax & Law. MinistrySafe

MinistrySafe has literally trained millions of church and ministry staff members and volunteers since its inception. After decades of litigating sexual abuse cases, Gregory Love and Kimberlee Norris founded MinistrySafe to help ministries meet legal standards of care and reduce the risk of sexual abuse by creating preventative measures tailored to fit the needs of churches and ministry programs. With over 50 years of combined experience in sexual abuse litigation, consultation, and crisis management, Love and Norris understand the risk of sexual abuse and how it unfolds in children’s programming. We realize that not all of our Reliant Missionaries and Associates work directly with children under the age of 18 in their church or ministry. However, many do work with college-aged students, young adults, or other members of a vulnerable population who may be susceptible to grooming and abuse. The principles shared in the training can also apply to those groups. And even if you don't feel like what you learn about in the MinistrySafe course is relevant to your day-to-day work, we hope the training increases your awareness of the issue and teaches you how to help recognize and prevent sexual abuse in any context that you may be.    

The courses are available to you, your supervisor, and your ministry leaders (even if Reliant does not employ them). You will need to complete the course on your own. However, we encourage you to discuss as a team how this information and the related policies may impact your ministry work.
