Info

We choose location-specific contingency plans based on risk assessment so that they are relevant and targeted.

Contingency plans help Reliant and partners plan for crisis events and respond before we enter the event.  We know from experience that forethought and planning can ensure better results than having to produce instructions quickly.  The act of creating the plan has also been shown to help prevent incidences from becoming crises by revealing additional mitigation options.  We choose to focus on preparing for foreseeable events now so that we can focus on caring for our staff during a crisis event.

Reliant will provide standardized organizational contingency template plans (see list below) for all risk levels. These contingency template plans can use used for creating specific contingency plans based on risks associated with a specific team location. The local team leaders will evaluate which contingency plans from the list should be created according to the risks for your specific team's location that was determined by Reliant and the team leaders.

  • At a minimum, an international location determined by Reliant to have a BASIC International Risk Level should submit the top 3 (or more if needed) contingency plans determined to be the greatest risks for their location from the list below.
  • At a minimum, an international location determined by Reliant to be MODERATE or HIGH International Risk Levels should submit the top 5 (or more if needed depending on the location) contingency plans determined to be the greatest risks for their location from the list below.

Note

If a crisis occurs with a type of contingency plan that was not customized and submitted to Reliant for your specific location, then follow the Reliant template listed below rather than a customized template for that specific crisis.

It will be the responsibility and expectation of each team to have created their own contingency plan(s) and submit them yearly to Reliant. Every individual is encouraged to also have personal contingency plans. Only individuals in locations determined to be HIGH risk are required to also submit personal contingency plans to Reliant.

In order to customize a specific contingency plan template with your location information, you will select the appropriate Solomon page Contingency Plan template below and then download the WORD doc template from that specific page. You will then customize the template with location-specific instructions and submitted the WORD docs to Reliant. Those plans will be stored by Reliant in a shared one-drive folder that houses your location's entire Crisis Management Plan that will be available to Reliant, the church/network partner, and the field team members for that location. Reliant will review those plans with each field leader and confirm that all team members have access to the entire Crisis Management Plan with updated relevant information as changes are made.

These plans will be reviewed and updated between Reliant and the field leaders at a minimum of every year.

The list of contingency plans will also be reviewed and updated immediately after a level 5 crisis event occurs (defined by a specific crisis). If after a risk assessment there are changes to risks or impact levels are reaching above thresholds, then a contingency plan must be created or updated for that specific type of threat.

The following is a list of contingency plan templates. The templates include:

  • Crisis readiness levels specific to the named threat (see below for more information)
  • References to relevant organizational policies
  • Preparation to mitigate the threat
  • Preliminary steps-by-step instructions for the field team
  • Response protocol for the Crisis Management Team
