Contingency plans help our organization think through crisis events and respond before we enter the event.  We know from experience that forethought and planning can ensure better results than having to produce instructions quickly.  The act of creating the plan has also been shown to help prevent the events from occurring by revealing additional mitigation options.  We choose to focus on preparing for foreseeable events now so that we can focus on caring for our staff during a crisis event.

Contingency plans can be numerous and irrelevant.  Therefore, we choose our location-specific contingency plans based on our risk assessment.


Reliant will provide standardized Contingency Planning. The CMT will distribute this to teams as needed and collect a specific local field contingency plan for team members living in a location that is considered moderate risk level or higher.

Reliant will review contingency will prepare contingency plans for all risks above a medium risk level as well as others with an impact rating of severe or critical.  These contingency plans will be reviewed and updated at a minimum of every two years and immediately after a level 1 5 crisis event occurs (defined by specific crisis).  If a risk assessment changes a risk or impact level to reaching the above thresholds, then a contingency plan must be created or updated for that threat.
