Concilium suggested dividing these into what is necessary depending on the Risk Level Assessment level for the location that Reliant would require for each person.  We need to edit with what we want for our risk levels (Basic- meaning our minimum for everyone, Moderate, Extreme)

The variance would be some of what it required verses recommended needs as well as the amounts for each that is required for each risk level category and duration of how long is needed. As well as when to carry these items can change on threat level- is it always or just if you are leaving the city radius? . 

There are three There are four types of item preparation: Items To Always Carry, Items to Carry with Traveling, The the Go Bag, and The and the Vehicle Supply Bag

Field Teams should identify required items. Basic- reference the list if traveling to higher threat- helpful things for travel. recommendation that they create a list based on local needsand agree to carry required items based on their International Location Risk Level as determined by Reliant

    In preparation for an evacuation, all personnel are required to have a “go bag” packed at all times.  The “go bag” is a bag of supplies that is ready to be accessed in case of an emergency and will help the individual to safely and effectively evacuate in a crisis.  This bag should include all necessary supplies for an evacuation, but also be portable enough to be carried by a single individual during travel.  Staff must take this on all excursions outside of a major city.  In addition to all items staff must carry at all times (see above), the Go Bag should include at a minimum:

    • Bag sufficient to carry all items below
    • 3-day supply of any prescription medications
    • Chem light
    • Signaling device such as a mirror and whistle
    • Compass
    • Backup battery or solar cell for charging electronics
    • Paracord
    • Duct tape
    • Snacks and packaged food bars
    • Water purification items (iodine tablets or other method)
    • Mylar blanket
    • Multi-tool and/or knife
    • Extra shirts, socks, and other clothing
    • Maps of local and relevant areas
    • Foreign SIM card
    • Fire starter and Tinder

    When traveling in a car outside of their home city, all personnel are additionally required to have certain items with them at all times:

    Communication Devices:

    • Two forms of communication are required to be with you at all times.
    • A third form, which should include a tracking device (satellite phone or non-local utility dependent (not cell/wifi dependent) is required to own and have in place of residence.
    • Reliant highly recommends having three forms of communication with you at all times.


    When traveling overland outside of their home city, all Reliant field members are additionally required to have the following items with them at all times:

    • Copy of ID and passport
    • Waterproof emergency contact card & emergency contact information
    • Emergency evacuation money (work with Program Team Leader to determine the appropriate amount).
  • Emergency evacuation money
  • Third communication device (such as an InReach device) for each traveling group, not necessarily for each individual or household

    • Extra clothes or T-shirt
    • Extra medications (as appropriate)

    The following additional items are recommended in a vehicle bag:

    • 20-30 feet of 550 cord
    • Seatbelt cutter
    • SOG entrenching tool
    • GPS
    • Sewing kit
    • Folding litter for transporting injured team members
    • Maps of city/region/country
