  • On the first Breezy questionnaire, we ask, "My parents financially support me in some way (ex: car, insurance, phone, school) OR my parents claim me on their taxes"
    • If the applicant says Yes, they will be asked if they have spoken to their parents about LT, how they feel about it, and be required to complete a parent notification. This parent notification will be sent via email to the applicants applicant's guardian so Reliant can make sure their parents support their decision.
    • If the applicant says No, they may move on without a parent notification (reference).

Info

Why do we do the parent/guardian notification form?

We have set up the 21 age not for legal reasons, but as a goodwill gesture towards the parents. fWe We want to make sure that at this time in their life where , when they can still be dependent on their parents for schooling, etc. that , we have received the parents blessing for them to spend their summer at our training. We want to make sure that the parents are supportive and behind the decision and not surprised when the student informs their parents where they are headed for the summer.   We just wanted to make sure the parents have been informed and are ok with the decision.  We picked 21 as the age because they are mostly still in school until then and still under the support of the their parent. There is a place on the application for the student to say they are no longer supported in any way financially by the parent, and if they choose that, then the parent is not contacted for consent, and their consent is not needed to complete the application.

Excerpt

There are two websites associated with a Collegiate LT.

These two websites will need information about a new LT.

  1. Reliant Assessment - where participants will actually apply (LT Sample Online Assessment).  Reliant will give directors (or LT administrators) access to view who has applied through Collegiate LT - Breezy Reports.  LT payments will be made on reliant.brushfire.com.
  2. The other site is collegiate.church/leadershiptraining
    1. This site is Collegiate’s LT information page for students and parents. There is a link on this site to register on the Reliant site (and on the Reliant site is a link to the Collegiate site for more info).
    2. On the Collegiate website, each LT has a welcome page, a program details page, info about the program director, info about finances (payment and dates), employment info (which is similar to the page we are asking you to send Reliant on employment), and the other ones have a student’s perspective.
