All employees must take the Abuse Awareness Course (length 1.5 hours).

• For 2021, the Skillful Screening Course (length: 2.25 hours) is optional. This course may be helpful to you if you oversee a children's or youth ministry or if you are involved in interviews or the hiring process for staff or volunteers. If you would like to take the course and do not see it on your MinistrySafe home page, email learning@reliant.org.

For most staff, the training will take about 3 hours. For staff in supervisory or leadership roles, the training will take about 4 hours. All of the courses can be taken at the user's own pace and they do not have to be completed in one sitting. Here's more detailed information about the Required Education Courses.

title I completed the courses as part of my New Staff Training with Reliant. Do I need to take them again?don't know my password or can't find the email with the training link. What do I do?
LEARN issues? email learn@reliant.org MinistrySafe issues? email hr@reliant.orgIf you attended New Staff Training (NST) since January 2021 and completed the courses, you do not need to take them as part of the Annual Required Education for existing staff. All Reliant Staff that attended NST prior to January 2021 will need to complete them again as part of the Annual Required Education.

title I am planning on exiting staff within the next few month. Do I need to take the courses this year? What courses do I take? How long will it take?
Please see the Annual Required Education for Existing Staff for the full detailsIf you are planning on exiting staff with Reliant before October 1, 2021, you do not need to take the courses this summer. If your Program Team is aware of your planned exit, they may have removed you from the list, and you should not have been emailed the links to the courses. However, if you did receive the links, please let your Program Team know so that they can note that you are excluded from the training requirement.

title Why are we doing this again when we took the same courses last year?
Reliant is committed to fostering a safe and healthy ministry environment for employees and for those to whom they minister. Therefore, it is beneficial for us all to be trained and educated on a regular basis on best practices around child safety and workplace harassment and discrimination prevention, two areas that are essential for creating safe ministry and work environments. It also gives you a chance to review the policies that are related to these topics. Plus, some states require annual training on workplace harassment, and this ensures that we are compliant with those state laws.  The Sexual Harassment and Discrimination Prevention courses by Telios Teaches have been updated for 2021 with new content. The Abuse Awareness training by MinistrySafe is the same course that you took in 2020, but it is such a vital topic for churches and ministries today that the information that is covered in the course must remain top of mind for anyone who works with children, youth, young adults, or any vulnerable population.

title I don't work with children. Why do I need to take the Child Abuse Awareness coursea course on Child Safety?
We realize that not all of our Reliant Missionaries employees and Associates associates work directly with children under the age of 18 in their church or ministry. However, many do work with college-aged students, young adults, or other members of a vulnerable population who may be susceptible to grooming and abuse. The principles shared in the training can also apply to those groups. And even if you don't feel like what you learn about in the MinistrySafe course is relevant to your day-to-day work, we hope the training increases your awareness of the issue and teaches you how to help recognize and prevent sexual abuse in any context that you may be.

title How do I complete the Story Quizzes 1-4 on Telios Teaches at the end of the course?
When you reach part 4/4 Titled: Sexual Harassment Prevention: Apply What You've Learned, there will be four Story Quizzes. This is a chance for you to use what you learned in a real-life scenario. The quizzes are written in a "choose your own adventure" style in which different choices will lead you to different conclusions. You'll even have a chance to "try again" if you don't like the conclusion that you ended on. But don't worry; you are not graded on the Story Quizzes, and you will earn your certificate regardless of how you answered the questions. To complete each quiz, follow the steps below. Complete each Story Quiz by scrolling down the page or by clicking "OK." Select "Next" to move on to the next page. Most Quizzes will give you the chance to either try again or start over. You can decide if you want to see if different decisions will lead to a different consequence. Or you can say "no" and continue on to the end. Each Story Quiz will end when it gets to the "Conclusion" portion and you click "Done." Once each quiz is complete, a Survey Monkey slide will appear. Simply click on the blue "Continue" button to move on to the next quiz. Once you've completed all four quizzes, a "Congratulations" note will appear.  Click on "Get Your Certificate" and it will open a new page where you will be able to download your certificate for your records. (Note: you do not need to send your certificate to Reliant.) You may exit the course.

You may send an exception request to Julie Thomas, HR Compliance Officer, at julie.thomas@reliant.org with your reason for the exception. Please copy your supervisor and Program Team on the email.

The courses are available to you, your supervisor, and your ministry leaders (even if Reliant does not employ them). You will need to complete the course on your own. However, we encourage you to discuss as a team how this information and the related policies may impact your ministry work.
