An Affiliated Project Affiliate Fundraiser is a foreign national raising funds through a church/project fund on behalf of Reliant. Typically, the Affiliate Fundraiser will also be a Designated Grantee receiving Stipends. When the qualifications as outlined below are met, the Affiliate Fundraiser must attend a Reliant training and become an officially approved deputized fundraiser. 

generally is not a U.S. citizen. U.S. citizens who want to raise funds for a ministry project fund should generally apply to be an Associate Staff with Reliant Mission.   Associate Staff are taff are considered Reliant volunteers who have been approved to conduct ministry and raise donations on behalf of Reliant and to incur ministry expenses, reimbursable according to Reliant's accountable reimbursement plan. Associate staff are not employees or independent contractors of Reliant. 

A ministry partner with Reliant might identify either a worker or someone who wishes to raise funds for the ministry partner but does not fit into one of our employment categories of missionary or Associate. This might be because the person is ineligible to work in the U.S. or has a unique set of circumstances. An Affiliated Project Fundraiser (APF) might be a good option for the ministry partner. While a ministry partner can establish a ministry church/project fund with Reliant solely to be used as salary support funding for stipends for the APFAffiliate Fundraiser, the name of the Reliant project fund must always be the ministry project name and not the name of the workerAffiliate Fundraiser. Supporting the APF the ministry work of the Affiliate Fundraiser and covering ministry expenses can be accomplished through a grant Reliant stipend grants to the ministry partner. Complete the APF Application and share it with projectfundraising@reliant.org for processing.

If there is not an existing ministry project fund related to the APF's ministry partner, or if the purpose of a ministry project fund is to solely be salary support for an APF, the following documentation must be collected prior to the ministry project fund being approved and created with Reliant:

  • Partnership documentation with the ministry project
  • A completed APF application with Reliant assessment
  • Ministry project documentation (form located here: What is a Project Fund?)

 

Affiliate Fundraiser Application

Please reach out to your program team with contact information for the Affiliate Fundraiser and they will send the Affiliate Fundraiser a link to the application. They The APF will also be required to complete a version of Reliant's Ministry Team Development (MTD) fundraising training. MTD training will be arranged during the assessment phase of the application process.
