  • First priority in any medical situation is to treat the participant or missionary.

  • Call Parent/Guardian. Emergency contact emergency contact. Contact info can be found for US events on their their  medical disclosure form on either in events.reliant.org under your event and the participant’s name or for events that did not use the Reliant application system it would be in the waiver on their google doc.  Even if the participant is able to contact their emergency contact on their own initially, the leader/director of the event should still contact the emergency contact once the emergency has settled to follow up to see if they have any questions or concerns. 
  • Have both medical forms available in case needed. Each participant's medical disclosure forms and medical permission and liability waiver and release forms are located on events.reliant.org under your event and the participant’s name (or if they did not use the Reliant application system it will be in the google doc). If you do not have access to internet to find their medical form, call Sarah Swann 540-998-7741.
  • Call or email Sarah Swann to give her the emergency details 540-998-7741.

For your protection and the protection of the Collegiate summer programs sponsoring church/network and Reliant itself you need to document everything. The best way is to create a google doc and share it with all those involved to be able to have everyone write their part in what happened.

Please inform the Reliant Summer Programs Coordinator regarding ANY incidents (big and small) with participants, interns, missionary or parents.  At Reliant, we receive the phone calls from parents/guardians when incidents arise so please keep us in the loop so we know how to answer their questions.
