A Pastor 1 tends to be responsible for the spiritual leadership and welfare of the church and its members either as the sole pastor or as a member of a leadership team. Provides leadership for and actively participates in worship, education, discipleship and evangelism for the spiritual life  and and growth of members. Responsible for financial accountability of the church whether solely or as a part of a leadership structure. May supervise staff or lead a significant ministry within the church as a member of an overall church leadership team. A missionary must be ordained to be a pastor 1,2 or 3.

In addition to Pastor 1 responsibilities, this pastor may supervise or coach other pastors. They will typically have at least 5-7 years of being a pastor. May be speaking at or starting to oversee multiple ministry sites.  The The Pastor 2 vision casts for the church and sets the overall direction of church programs. They take a primary leadership role for in worship, education, discipleship and evangelism for the spiritual life and growth of members. Primary responsibility for services of public worship, administers and leads the pastoral ministry of the church, has overall responsibility for the church staff and represents the congregation in denominational or church network and community affairs.

In addition to Minister 1 responsibilities, the Minister 2 may be responsible for oversight of multiple other ministers of the gospel. They will typically have at least 5-7 years of serving in a Minister 1-type capacity. They may be giving care and oversight to multiple different ministry sites or church plants. This missionary may have significant leadership responsibilities either for a region or group of churches.  They They may take more of a primary leadership role within the direction of the church for worship, education, discipleship and evangelism for the spiritual life and growth of members.

In addition to Minister 2 requirements, the Minister 3 is generally a senior or seasoned minister of the gospel who has been in a Minister 1 or 2 type role for a minimum of 10 years. This minister has probably been involved with several church plants or coaches several ministers within a  network network or group of churches. They may be on church network boards or provide oversight for groups of churches in this way.

This is typically for a student  missionary missionary in a period of preparation and training while both the individual and the organization consider a possible longer-term commitment. They are typically missionaries in a specific 3 - 4 month ministry internship program.
