3 Key Strategies to move people out of Follow Up Land:
- After having In the initial appointment, be sure to set up the next time you will connect with them!
- Keep the ball in your court.
- Suggest that you connect in 1-2 days and see how they respond.
- "Today's Friday, I'd love to reconnect on Sunday evening to see what you are thinking. Would that work?"
- Use milestone dates to encourage people to sign up to give.
- "I am working to get 50% funded by July 1st. Would you be able to start giving this week to help me meet my goal?"
- "I am spending this summer raising my full support for my program. I am working to see how much I have left to raise. Would you be able to start giving this week so I can best see how much I have remaining to raise?"
- Follow up MORE often than you are.
- For some, signing up to give can take 7 conversations from the appointment.
- Calling/texting someone every 2 days for a week is very likely not going to bother them. I promise.
- You can use different communication methods: email, text, phone, in person. Mix it up.
