Reliant Mission is committed to respecting the privacy of our financial partners and website users. We assure you that your information will not be shared with third parties except for the common-sense cases listed here, such as a credit card service to help process your gift.
We only use the information entrusted to us to fulfill our mission: to mobilize support-based missionaries for the Great Commission.
Why a privacy promise?
We care about our partners. We publish this promise, so you know how we value financial partner (donor) privacy and the specific ways personally identifiable information is used.
Online Security
Reliant uses the same encryption technology many online banks use (Transport Layer Security 1.2) to secure your online transactions and help safeguard your data. No data or information transmitted over the Internet can be guaranteed 100% secure, and so like any organization, we cannot be responsible for loss, corruption, unauthorized acquisition of information, or disclosure of information due to errors in transmission or unauthorized acts of third parties. But our goals remain to protect your privacy and that your personal information remains secure.
If you lose access to your account, we ask you take steps to verify your identity so we can ensure others don’t try to access your data. As an additional security measure, your credit card number is never stored on our servers but only with our secure, third-party payment provider.
Information Collected
Here are the types of financial partner information that we may collect and maintain:
- contact information: name, complete address, phone number, email address;
- payment information: credit card number and expiration date, and billing information; (collected only)
- payment information: bank account number and bank routing number
- information you wish to share, such as: your local church/organization, birthday, spouse, questions, comments, suggestions; and
- your request to receive periodic updates: e.g., to individuals who request it, we will send periodic mailings related to specific fund-raising appeals, prayer concerns, newsletters, and annual ministry reports.
How Information Is Used
Reliant Mission uses your information to ensure your gift effectively reaches the ministries you desire to support. Specifically, we may use your information to
- Complete a gift transaction
- Help you with your gift or our website
- Communicate with you about your giving and/or ministry updates.
- Credit card and bank account numbers are used only for gift or payment processing and are not retained for other purposes.
Limited Sharing of Personal Information
With the local church or ministry
The approved leadership of the local partner church or ministry where a Reliant missionary serves may have limited access to Reliant financial partner information as it applies to that specific missionary or ministry fund.
With business services that help us accomplish our mission
Reliant may also share your personally identifiable information with third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing users, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. For example, if you make a credit card donation, we may provide information to our bank partner for the purpose of processing the credit card transaction.
For safety or legal purposes
We may also release information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, protect our or others' rights, property, or safety, or for other legal purposes.
Reliant Mission will not sell, rent, or lease your personal information to other organizations. We limit the use of financial partner information to the internal purposes of Reliant to further our purpose to partner with missional churches and Gospel-centered non-profits to mobilize support-based missionaries for the Great Commission.
Children
Reliant does not intentionally or knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. Reliant neither identifies information as originating from children nor targets its marketing, communications, website, or any goods or services to children. Children who desire to give towards a ministry fund should do with the account of a parent or guardian.
If a child has provided Reliant with personally identifiable information, a parent or guardian of that child should contact Reliant at info@reliant.org if they would like this information deleted from Reliant’s records. Reliant will use all reasonable efforts to delete all of the child's information from Reliant’s records.

i'm ok with it; am unsure if there are reasons for us to keep it separate like the "big boys" do.
